The other day I was in line at the new Dollar General by my home. I was behind a lady with her basket full of groceries. She had household items, and baby diapers, wipes along with some food items. The cart was full, and more full than most of the others that were standing in line so you could tell that she was shopping for essential items. When she tried her card it did not go through and so she tried again. It didn’t go through a second time, and she stood there in shock and wasn’t sure what to do because she needed the items but wasn’t able to pay. Thankfully I had my Angels on the Streets envelope. I handed it to her and let her know to open it. Once she did you could see the tears in her eyes and the sheer confusion at first, like she was getting punked. I gave her a little bit of background, and after a little insistence, she finally accepted and was able to get the items she needed.
