There was an apartment complex fire in my community the week after Thanksgiving. The community organized a meetup at a local park to drop off needed items for the dislocated families. When I was there dropping off items for the families affected, I met a single mom and her two daughters. The Red Cross was helping with lodging for the families, but this particular family lost everything else they had. I gave the mom the Angel on the Street envelope and told her it couldn’t replace everything, but it will help. Later that week, I shared her story with my bowling league and collected over $500 to help her out.
